Opportunity

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) aligns business objectives with associates and management in designated divisions. The HRBP will act as associate champion and change agent.  The HRBP formulates partnerships to deliver value added service to management and associates that reflect the business objectives of the organization, through sourcing/recruitment of associates, training, and employee relations. 

►   Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Responsible for employment function; develop and implement recruitment plans; source, screen, interview and onboard applicants; maintain retention rate at an acceptance level.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Director, HR to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Identify training needs; recommend existing programs to meet those needs and/or personally develop and conduct customized internal programs.
  • Assist Director, HR with developing and administering wage and salary plans at all company locations.
  • Investigate and prepare evidence for the company's use in hearings, law suits, and EEOC complaints.  Represent the company in unemployment, EEOC and/or legal hearings. 
  • Responsible for the maintaining the department's operating procedures, record systems, and the preparation of periodic reports and summaries to keep management apprised of activities.
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers in the administration of discipline; conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations and personally participate in disciplinary proceedings whenever necessary.
  • Provide guidance and input on division restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Maintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of associates, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with management and associates to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and associate retention.
  • Through contacts with educational institutions, seminars and professional societies, and organizations, keep abreast of new developments related to Human Resources.
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes- Oxley Act 2002 Section 404.
Qualifications

►   Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field of study from a four-year college or university and at least ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SPHR/PHR desired, but not required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including benefit/compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, performance management, HRIS, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, negotiating, consulting, and conflict management skills.
  • Must have strong computer skills in MS Office (word, excel, power point) and MS Outlook.
  • Must be organized, able to prioritize and meet deadlines and commitments. 
  • Must respond on a timely basis to internal and external customer questions, requests, or issues.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain strong trusting relationships with management and associates in order to gain support and achieve results.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality since the job requires working with highly sensitive data, as well as private employee information.  
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and the associates of the organization.
  • Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $60,375 - $88,550/ year.
The hiring [base salary / wage rate] range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool. Avery Dennison reserves the right to modify this information at any time, subject to applicable law.

  • This position will sit On-Site at our Kansas (New Century) Location
