Job description

The Human Resources Business Partner provides consulting and coaching to departmental leaders, managers and employees in order to support the organization's vision, mission, and overall objectives. The HRBP carries out responsibilities in a minimum of the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, policy interpretation and application, full-cycle recruitment, and performance management consultation. The HRBP may carry out additional responsibilities to include employee and management development initiatives and training. Pay range for this position is $64,902-77,564 per year, based on years of experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in developing and executing Human Resources policies and procedures, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Participates in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing organizational requirements.
  • Partners with stakeholders and Business Partners in ensuring that the best practices are being adopted, ensuring the delivery of projects as required as well as ensuring that key deliverables are met within the specified timelines.
  • Suggests new procedures and policies to continuously improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve the employee experience.
  • Ensures legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and recommends updates to policies and/or procedures as required.
  • Acts as a change agent to business through process design and approaches that support change and transformation - striving to lead mutual processes to best practice status.
  • Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership and employees on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application, and talent management and development.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of training and development programs.
  • Functions effectively in a Matrix Management environment.
  • Completes any duties and special assignments as requested.

Recruitment
  • Partners with hiring managers to determine staffing needs.
  • Partners with Finance to determine budget/position status.
  • Processes job requisitions.
  • Coordinates with the hiring manager(s) to determine best recruiting process for position(s).
  • Acts as liaison with area employment agencies and advertising agencies.
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Develops advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
  • Screens resumes, and phone screens applicants.
  • Coordinates and administers applicable assessments.
  • Conducts reference checking, including employment verifications.
  • Delivers verbal and written employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings;
  • Coordinates background checks.
  • Continuously updates recruitment spreadsheet(s) as changes occur.
  • Completes weekly status report on recruitment activity.
  • Conducts on-boarding of new hires.
  • Plans, prepares and conducts new hire orientation.
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process;
  • Manages internal transfer process, including screening, transfer offer letters, etc.
  • Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals.
  • Creates other reports as requested.
  • Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, non-compete agreements).
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency with automated applicant tracking systems and social media recruitment tools.
  • Maintains employee information in HRIS (coordinates input, audits for accuracy of record data and status changes, maintains data integrity, inputs new employees information into system).
  • Creates, organizes, and updates files and records utilizing database and spreadsheet software, other online applications, and manual systems.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field required or 10 years Human Resources experience.
  • Professional Human Resources Certification preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience in multiple HR functions including but not limited to employee relations, talent development, talent review and succession planning, employee engagement, performance management and talent acquisition.
  • Knowledge of full-cycle recruitment experience preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Proven strong foundation and knowledge of federal and state labor laws and compliance requirements including EEOC, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, immigration laws, and principles & practices of Human Resources.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential matters.
  • Strong detail-oriented, well organized and resourceful mindset with knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, ethics, and cultural awareness with the ability to develop relationships with peers, applicants, hiring managers, executive leadership and vendors.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, ) and Google Suite. Comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
  • Working knowledge of a Human Resource Information System, preferably ADP Workforce Now and Workday.
  • Ability to take personal responsibility and action toward learning and implementing new ideas, methods and technologies.
  • Excellent conflict management, mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Skilled in promoting diversity and equality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team.
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per week if necessary in order to complete work.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain accurate data and records.
  • Must be extremely well organized, exhibit professional work habits, schedule and accomplish own work priorities in order to coordinate the completion of jobs assigned and work independently.
  • Skilled in the delivery of training programs, to be engaging and adapt presentation to audience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Current and valid driver's license, personal vehicle and auto insurance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively coach employees and management
  • Demonstrated success implementing innovative methods to source and attract candidates.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Excellent follow up skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to business needs as required.
