Responsible for managing the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, FSA, HSA, and 401(k) plans.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries. Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data and reports to Accounting.
- Manages workers comp claims with Pinnacle.
- Responds to benefit inquiries from managers and employees re: plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork (e.g., medical, personal, disability, and FMLA).
- Appropriately and effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absence and/or disabilities.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution designations. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
- Manges the annual open enrollment process through a third-party company.
- Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
- Assists with new-hire orientations as requested/needed.
Qualifications
- 10-year criminal background check
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws
- Demonstrated and proven critical thinking skills
- Ability to efficiently and effectively work independently, as well as collaboratively with staff at all levels within the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Current, proficient knowledge of/experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Demands
Position requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee may occasionally bend, kneel, and/or squat. Must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 15 pounds.
