  • HYBRID - If you reside within 50 miles of Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL this role is hybrid, requiring office presence three days a week (Tue, Wed, Thu), with the rest of the workweek spent working from home.
  • REMOTE - If you live over 50 miles from Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL, this role is remote. However, occasional office visits may be required based on business needs, with advance communication for such requests.

Job Description
Opportunity at a Glance
This position will assist in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs in accordance with guidelines and policies to provide recommendations on compensation issues and proposals. Works collaboratively with the Total Rewards team to oversee internal compensation policies and practices are upheld as well as existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation. Technical skills must be honed to a solid level to perform quick, accurate and progressive analysis of compensation data. The role will reside in the Chicagoland area and may be required to go to the downtown Chicago office for occasional meetings. The Compensation Analyst is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing high level of service to our business partners and uphold an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing assistance on all Adtalem's compensation processes.
  • Assist in the administration of the organization's compensation management system, MarketPay, serving as a point of contact for the vendor and internal clients.
  • Compile appropriate data and create and apply formatting to compensation spreadsheets during the annual business services compensation and bonus processes.
  • Conduct job analysis, evaluation, and salary administration to determine appropriate salary grades, ranges, and pricing based on internal and external equity.
  • Participate in the administration of the Annual Planning Process, including but not limited to the upload of all changes while ensuring the integrity of the data and codes being entered through validation reporting.
  • Responsible for compensation survey participation as requested, as well as managing the timeline and requirements of each survey.
  • Conducts various department audits to ensure we are remaining compliant.
  • Performs internal equity studies in response to employment actions (transfers, promotions, etc.).
  • Assist in developing and supporting training efforts and drafting communications related to compensation programs.
  • Provides recommendations related to compensation process improvements.
  • Administer, report, and track on-going compensation programs (recognition awards, short and long-term incentive plans, etc....)
  • Partner with HRIS to ensure data integrity in HRIS system
  • Work closely with HR partners and Talent Acquisition teams on proposals for new hire offers, promotions, and adjustments.
  • Participates in various human resources related projects as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business, Economics, or other related field preferred.
  • 2+ years Experience in Compensation required.
  • Project management experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Excel required, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables and some formula generation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate potentially detailed and complex information to others.
  • Ability to protect and maintain confidential and highly sensitive information with discretion and tact.
  • Aptitude and willingness to work with complex procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to changing priorities and deadlines in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Strong work ethic with the willingness and ability to assume new tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and common sense.
  • Strong service orientation, and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with users, peers, office and firm management, and outside business partners.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, facilitate solutions, and meet deadlines and milestones for projects assigned.
  • System knowledge of UKG, Salesforce, and MarketPay preferred.
  • Ability to be flexible with hours when needed to meet time sensitive responsibilities.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Preferred

Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $41419.01 and $75065.24. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
