Sr. Analyst, HR Total Rewards

This is a Hybrid role, with the expectation the colleague will work out of the Lincolnshire, IL office from time to time.

 What the day will look like
  • The Senior Benefits Analyst role is part of the Aon Benefits function under the Total Rewards team in the People Organization (HR). Use third-party vendor to provide support for day-to-day health and welfare administration, obtain correct data/information and process funding and payments.
  • Searches historical plan records and data to assist colleagues with participant inquiries, claims, appeals, audits, legal requests and other projects.
  • Researches complex participant benefit issues and formulates resolutions/recommendations by analyzing fact patterns and applying plan provisions. Provides resolution in accordance with due dates and documents processes.
  • Monitors the corporate benefits email boxes and assist with replies and sending mass emails.
  • Uses knowledge to consult with talent acquisition, HR, payroll, finance, and other internal groups on benefits operations matters.
  • Conducts benefit plan reconciliations and manages/monitors vendor expenses.
  • Completes federal, state and local compliance filings for health and welfare plans
  • Ensures accuracy of supporting documentation for Form 5500, FAS106/112 and other compliance-related activities; analyzes and responds to consultant/actuary inquiries.
  • Conducts SOX testing and user acceptance testing of participant-facing applications and benefits calculations/processes.
  • Supports Annual Enrollment.
  • Plays active role in benefits communications and managing benefits communication projects.
  • Provides merger, acquisition, and divestiture support that includes comparing benefit designs/pricing and completing gap analysis.
 How this opportunity is different

The benefits team supports U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada with additional global responsibilities. This role mainly supports U.S. health, welfare, and voluntary benefit plans but may also include support for Canada health and group benefits, acquisitions, divestitures and other HR initiatives.

 Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Working knowledge of health and welfare benefits-related laws and regulations.
  • Skilled at properly researching, identifying, and documenting a participant issue.
  • Experience with data mining and interpreting results.
  • Project management experience
  • Time management skills with a can-do attitude

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $70,000 - $80,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

 

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
