House Manager, Overnight, Part-Time Belfort House / Bronzeville Youth Shelter Floater

Specifications: Shift: Friday - Saturday; 11pm-7am (overnight)

Pay: $21/hr

Function: Responsible for working as a team member to establish and maintain the collaborative and positive tenor of the residential team. Responsible for the direct care of program youth. Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to the mission and core values of Ignite. Reports directly to the Director of Residential Programs.

Duties: The following duties are the essential functions of this position.

Community Supported Space

• Provides support to Bronzeville Youth Shelter and adult transitional living program.
• Provides supervision and appropriate interventions to clients housed in basic center and/or transitional living program.
• Manages any crisis and/or emergency that may occur in residential community. Documents and maintains medication protocol
• Works with each client on increasing basic life skills, building problem solving skills, communication skills, and coping strategies.
• Assist youth with skills building activities including daily chores, room maintenance and cooking
• Ensures case manager, residential team members and collaborative agencies are kept well informed about clients? needs around housing, education, employment, physical and mental health well-being.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of community kitchen and pantry.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of supply closets including stocking cleaning supplies
• Completes overnight community shift tasks daily, including cleaning and organization of shared community space and preparing client rooms for intake.
• Organizes and prepares supplies for distribution to program youth, assist with meal prepping in coordination with Facilities Manager
• Completes tasks as assigned to facilitate case managers ability to conduct Belfort House programming.
• May be called up to provide additional support to clients in need of increased knowledge of basic life skills and daily issues impeding clients? progress toward self- sufficiency.
• Works with the team to ensure the delivery of all aspects of youth service delivery embody Ignites? philosophies.
• Administrative Responsibilities
• Organize and maintain cleanliness of shared staff office including updating and replenishing shared documents.
• Complete all shift and client related documentation as required.
• Attends and participates in monthly trainings and team meetings, as required. Attends and participates weekly supervisions sessions.

General

• Works as a part of a team to provide support and assistance whenever needed.
• Follows agency policies and procedures for the obtainment of information and provision of services to clients.
• Works with and supervises program volunteers, as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
