Job description
The Sales Manager opportunity is primarily responsible for introducing the hotels to new clients, working with existing customers, soliciting new accounts and working with the team as a key piece of the hotels success. The position requires active solicitation of new and existing accounts, utilizing a variety of prospecting methods including but not limited to telephone and outside calls to potential client's locations. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and hospitality professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is passionate about interacting with our clients, guests and employees.
Candidate must be willing to work weekends with a Tuesday-Saturday schedule most weeks. Must be flexible based on business needs.
The position reports to the Complex Director of Sales and Marketing and General Manager.
The role is to sell Social groups and meeting space services of the hotel in accordance with business plan in order to meet or exceed budgeted revenue goals. This role will be working day to day with the Complex Director of Sales. Key performance indicators are RevPAR Index, Group revenue performance vs. budget, group pace and achievement of assigned sales activities.
Essential Functions
·Responsible to assigned quarterly/annual booking goals.
·Prospect for new business through outside sales calls, solicitation, networking, and cold-calling.
·Respond to inquiries, walk ins and inbound sales calls in a timely manner.
·Prepare all Property Sales Proposals, Contracts, Group Resumes, BEO’s, Reservation Links, etc.
·Maximize outcome of all sales initiatives by following up on leads, following up with existing clients to identify additional business opportunities and managing accounts
·Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures, sales policies and procedures
·Maintain a complete database of accounts, bookings and Sales activities
·Conduct outside sales calls with key local target accounts, in partnership with Complex Director of Sales.
·Local Community Event participation.
·Monitor and communicate Comp set Intel.
·Responsible for entering, creating and maintain group blocks in Delphi & Fosse
·Handle booking, contracting, and detailing of meeting rooms
·Follow up surveys issued to meeting planners after event
·Proactive tele-prospecting & outreach to Social market to generate revenue
·Participate in local sales blitzes to generate revenue for hotel
·Ongoing support, coverage when needed, and communication with Front Desk
·Inspect Daily Show Rooms & conduct scheduled and walk in site tours
·Participate in Revenue Strategy Meeting as needed for business review
·Submit required weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports accurately and timely.
·Perform other tasks as needed or directed to ensure effective hotel operations
·Contribute and work as a “team” member in all facets of the position.
Qualification Standards:
Experience:
·Minimum of 1 – 2 years hotel sales or front of house hotel operational experience, primarily in select or focused service hotel environments.
·College degree or equivalent experience
·Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
·Experience with brand Sales systems; Delphi and Fosse experience preferred
·Must be proficient in MS, Excel, and Teams
·Ability to read, analyze and interpret hotel specific reports
·Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions from clients, managers and the general public.
