Summary:
The Hispanic Programs Specialist works with the Managing Director of Student Engagement Programs and the Student Engagement team to support Hispanic students and families. Responsibilities include developing and running student organizations, providing resources, bridging cultural gaps, creating programming, and collaborating with community-based organizations. The role involves data collection, relationship-building, and enhancing parent education programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and run the student organization for our Hispanic/LatinX students
- Provide resources for Epic staff, families, and teachers that pertain to our Hispanic/LatinX students
- Broaden the educational experience to develop an understanding of the various geographic, cultural, gender, ethnic, racial, and religious traditions
- Help bridge the cultural and language gaps between students, families, and teachers
- Create programming and activities that benefit Hispanic/LatinX students and families
- Identify and develop relationships with community-based organizations to collaborate with and perform outreach to these organizations on behalf of the school
- Present recommendations to the team regarding events that the school can participate in or organize that recognize and celebrate our students
- Work with Instructional Coaches to create curriculum and content
- Develop and send monthly newsletters to families of Hispanic students
- Collect and compile data to monitor, promote, and assess the progress of Hispanic/LatinX students, including academic, social/emotional, college and career readiness, graduation, and other identified success factors
- Maintain data related to student enrollment and completion to generate end-of-term and end-of-year reports that determine the effectiveness of the program
- Collaborate with the internal team and Epic staff to enhance the parent education program, utilizing both expertise and a positive attitude towards working collaboratively to achieve program goals
- Develop strategies to engage parents in learning opportunities focusing mainly on the Hispanic community

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in community outreach
- Experience working with Hispanic students and families
Qualifications
- Bilingual and fluent in Spanish, written and spoken
- Willing to work independently and with a team
- Must be a self-starter
- Willing to adapt and be flexible to meet the changing professional development needs of the organization
- Able to communicate effectively across all departments
- Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with students, families, and staff over the phone and in-person
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to present effectively and persuasively. Good negotiating skills.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite. Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.

- Must be able to pass a state-mandated background check after a conditional offer of employment is made

This position is remotely based and also must travel to various Epic sites. Meetings and events in public places and at Epic offices will be required.This requires spending a significant amount of time in the car, driving in various conditions and at various times of day. The noise level is quiet to moderately loud (when students are present.)

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
