The Van Wert County Health Department is seeking a full-time Home Visitor to work with our Help Me Grow program. Help Me Grow Home Visiting is a voluntary family support program for pregnant women or new parents. Offered in every county of the state through a well-established network, Help Me Grow Home Visiting is an evidence-based program that promotes healthy growth and development for babies and young children. Day to day responsibilities will include: Contacting eligible families to set up appointments, completing home visits with families, referrals to local services, documenting and billing for services.
Requirements include:
- a high school diploma or higher education, experience working with children,
- a willingness to work with at risk families and children,
- an ability to establish trusting relationships
- acceptance of individual differences
- experience and humility to work with the cultural diverse families
- knowledge of infant and child development
- willingness to engage in building reflective capacity
- infant mental health endorsement preferred
- valid driver’s license.
