Help Desk Specialist - Amikids, Inc

The Help Desk Specialist is responsible for providing outstanding service to AMIkids and affiliated programs. The Help Desk Specialist assists and supports computer users in order to obtain maximum productivity from their hardware and software, and troubleshoots hardware, software, and end user problems in person and by telephone.

Essential Job Duties

• Assist AMIkids personnel in the use, installation and update of software and hardware systems,
• Support hardware, software, and configuration of computers at AMIkids Inc. and its affiliated programs,
• Install and setup new computers,
• Troubleshoot hardware and software for users,
• Travel to AMIkids programs for installation or reconfiguration of systems and software as required,
• Advise on methods to maximize productivity of system by users,
• Maintain updated files with changes in systems, configurations, software and accessories at AMIkids Inc.,
• Create, post, and maintain information on AMIkids IT Office Team Site,
• Arrange for outside repairs as needed,
• Maintain network printers including toner, cartridges and ribbons,
• Evaluate, troubleshoot and obtain repairs on donated equipment,
• Maintain library of software and distribution disks at AMIkids Inc. and assist with back-up procedures,
• Maintain library of updates and previous software manuals,
• Assist with daily system back-ups,
• Assist the users in ensuring data integrity via prudent back-up procedures,
• Create, maintain, and delete user accounts,
• Create and migrate email accounts for AMIkids personnel,
• Attend required training/professional development events and maintain appropriate certification(s) and license(s),
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience

• Associate degree in computer or information/technology field, preferred, will consider minimum two years’ experience in a Computer Help Desk position in lieu of degree,
• Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite,
