Healthcare Facilities Regulatory Manager
Under the direction of the Senior Director of EH&S, the Healthcare Facilities Regulatory Manager will assist with the assessment of environmental and safety risk elements across the CREF customer portfolio. The Healthcare Facilities Regulatory Manager assists with planning, development, implementation, administration, direction, evaluation, and maintaining programs necessary to ensure a safe and healthful environment and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. The Healthcare Facilities Regulatory Manager has responsibility for a safe and healthful environment while providing oversight and training in the general areas of safety in the Hospitals Environment of Care. The Healthcare Facilities Regulatory Manager assists with overseeing the Life Safety, Emergency Management, and Environment of Care Chapters of the Joint Commission standards across the CREF customer portfolio.
Core Responsibilities
- The Healthcare Facilities Regulatory Manager supports an internal and external team of facility, environmental and safety professionals while working collaboratively with various teams throughout the organization to review current systems, processes, assess shortcomings, analyze options for improvement, and implement solutions. The Healthcare Facilities Regulatory Manager also supports multiple projects of varying size and scope simultaneously. This role requires a self-motivated person who acts as a change agent, adapts quickly to new information and data, and interacts effectively in a team environment. The Healthcare Facilities Regulatory Manager will function within the policies established or authorized by CREF and customer Hospital Leadership. As the Healthcare Facilities Regulatory Manager, you will be responsible for and have commensurate authority to accomplish the basic functions of the position in scheduling the duties of your responsibilities, consistent with sound operations and authorized policies and procedures, together with proportionate authority for their fulfillment.
- Assists with the development, coordination, and monitoring of the Environmental Health and Safety Program for the CREF customer portfolio.
- Supports a team of safety professionals who partner collaboratively with functional areas across the CREF customer portfolio in support of organizational and team objectives.
- Assists in the management of the Life Safety, Emergency Management, and Environment of Care Chapters of the Joint Commission standards.
- Assists with development and management of processes and systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data regarding environmental health and employee safety incidents, evaluations, and surveillance.
- Fosters and maintains positive relationships with customers and all levels of management.
- Stays abreast of environmental health and safety industry trends, benchmarks and best practices and incorporates new knowledge into organizational programs and plans.
- Works with local and state regulatory agencies as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant management experience.
- Experience conducting inspections/audits in healthcare environment, providing written critiques and feedback; knowledge of OSHA, Joint Commission, and other relevant regulatory codes.
- Proven experience organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the conceptual stage through implementation.
- Experience participating in Joint Commission and/or CMS validation surveys.
- Proven experience with process improvement methodologies.
