QTalent Solutions is looking to hire a Health Information Services Administrator, for our client - a full service, privately owned and operated practice based in historic Savannah, Georgia.  Their focus and specialty have been diagnosing and treating patients with kidney related diseases and hypertension.  They also provide hemodialysis services, peritoneal dialysis, renal transplant referrals, and care following transplantation.   This position will be located at the home office based in Savannah, Georgia with some travel to sites in various nearby cities. 

Reporting to the Practice Administrator, the Health Information Services Administrator is responsible for ensuring the Practice meets government Medicare compliance standards for all utilized IT systems. They will be accountable for the support of all staff, patients, and providers for these systems on and off-site at all Practice locations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Daily maintenance and upgrades of all IT systems; including operational updates, system support and contracts for systems currently in use and for future additional software.
  • Periodic testing of all systems to ensure usability and reliability for government compliance.
  • Providing IT staff support off-site and on-site for all locations with on-site visits as needed.
  • Function as a liaison with IT and Communications vendors including, but not limited to Infinity, Seimitsu, Phreesia, DocTalk and Ashley’s.
  • MIPS management, including, but not limited to, monthly monitoring to ensure government compliance for all MIPS goals and compliance standards; to include monthly reporting and recommendations to CEO and Operations Director.
  • Perform an annual review of the company’s IT policies and procedures, including, but not limited to HIPAA compliance.
  • Health information oversight as it pertains to HIPAA, by adding, removing, and tracking mobile equipment such as iPad or Cell Phones.
  • Onboarding newly hired staff and offboarding exiting staff on all necessary systems, by job title, including, but not limited to, EMR, Follow-My-Health, ImpactMD, Mobile, PM/Allscripts, Phreesia, DocTalk.
  • Work with the Administrative Team to create, monitor and report on workflows.
  • Travels to each office as needed to provide newly hired staff with initial overview training of systems.
  • Creation and administration of a user education program, including training videos, for all systems.
  • Provide patient support for the Follow-My-Health program.
  • Creation and implementation of a disaster plan for equipment with annual report to CEO and Operations Director.  
  • Creation, development, and administration of a company-wide Intranet/Employee Portal.
  • Identify the budget and expense needs for technology, including hardware and software for all facilities.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of of medical practice and patient management software systems in a clinical environment.
  • Elinc error cue monitoring
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong Excel, reporting, and general HR knowledge, skills, abilities
  • Strong administrative skills and abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate with teams across the organization

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of medical practice and patient management software systems.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and Clinical Operations, Regulatory Guidelines and Quality measures.
  • Knowledge of general office equipment and practice management software.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and environment to facilitate patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions in medical practice environment.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians, patients, staff, and the public.
  • Outstanding oral and written communications skills.

 

Abilities

  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly, effectively, and tactfully in all situations, especially emergency and stressful situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, clearly, courteously, and effectively.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment with emphasis on computer and telecommunications systems.

Environmental/Work Environment: Medical office, exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions related to clinic setting and public interaction. Working from home is optional and offered based on an assessment by the CEO.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Mostly sedentary with some standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Requires full range of body motion (standing and walking). Daily and repetitive data entry - good ergonomic techniques encouraged. Periodic stress from face-to-face encounters with patients/visitors and phone call interactions.

HIPAA Statement:  Position involves accessing and utilizing protected Health Information (PHI) of patients. Extreme confidentiality required along with upholding the HIPAA privacy practices rules and regulations as required by law.
