OSS is seeking a qualified Systems Administrator to provide Support Base Services (SBS) to Fort Eisenhower, Georgia and Gillem Enclave, Georgia. The SBS provides Military Personnel Division services support, Retirement/Transition Services, Automation Services, Officer/Enlisted services, Casualty Operations, Mobilization, In/Out Processing, Defense Eligibility Enrollment System (DEERS)/ID Card and Trainee Services support for Soldiers, Family members Department of Defense (DoD) Civilians, and Retirees assigned, attached and/ or supported by Fort Eisenhower, GA and Gillem Enclave, GA. SBS provides performance of all planning, programming, administration, management, and execution necessary to provide the specified services. Services include expert resources, personnel, technical reports, products, and solutions that address technical, analytical, and strategic subject matter expertise in the development and implementation of new HR IT systems, simulations, strategies, programs, processes, structures, training support, and doctrine as directly related to HR Transformation and new Army HR systems implementation across all three Army components (Active, Reserve, and National Guard). The aforementioned services shall be performed in accordance to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and directives.

The System Administrator will play a pivotal role in managing server operations, encompassing hardware, operating systems (OS), and utilities. Responsibilities include ensuring the smooth functioning of servers by overseeing their hardware components, maintaining and updating operating systems, and managing utilities vital for server operations. This role entails monitoring server performance, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and implementing necessary upgrades or patches to optimize server efficiency and security. Additionally, the System Administrator will collaborate with other team members to develop and enforce server policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Expertise will be essential in maintaining the stability, reliability, and security of our server infrastructure, supporting the uninterrupted delivery of services and applications to our users.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Previous Desktop Support, Help Desk or Customer Service experience, knowledge of Standard USAF Management Information Systems (MIS), Instructor or training experience (documented).
  • Must be familiar with FEDLOG, DEERS, ARMS, MDCPDS, DJMPF, DCPDS, and RAPIDS.
  • Maintain methods and techniques for professional record keeping and writing.
  • Ability to effectively plan, implement, and manage assigned programs and functions.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must possess 3 years’ related experience within the last five years.
  • Must be certified in Security + and A+ Certifications.
  • Must possess an Alternate PKI Token (ALT).
  • Must have an Elevated Privilege Account in Active Directory (AD).
  • Meet DoDM 8140.03 (Formally DoD 8570.01-M) requirements to include baseline cybersecurity certifications, computing environment certifications, privileged user cybersecurity Responsibilities, and PII.
  • Must have expertise in one or more operating systems.
  • Must be generally independent and collaborative in nature.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Proficient in using MS Windows and MS Word/Excel Applications.
  • Possess a Valid Drivers’ License without special restrictions.

 Physical Demands 

  • Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
  • Noise level can range from minimal to intense.

Security Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must possess an active Secret Clearance.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check.
