Overall Summary
Health Care Transportation Associate will be responsible for timely delivery of the Mobile Clinics to its daily destination(s). Once Mobile Clinic has been driven and delivered to destination, associate will operate as part of the care team performing a variety of clerical functions. Position requires flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends as necessary, working in multiple locations in Santa Clara and Alameda Counties.
Essential Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Transportation Mobile Services Manager, the Healthcare Transportation Associate performs a variety of complex, professional, analytical, and confidential Front Desk services. Duties include:
Transportation Responsibilities:
• Provides transportation of Mobile Clinic to and from established sites
• Operation of generator and other on-board systems, including hydrologic, water supply and equipment strapping for safety.
• Completes daily pre-departure checklist to ensure proper operation of Mobile Clinic
• Completes setup checklist upon arriving at site
• Completes end of day checklist upon conclusion of day and report patient utilization numbers
• Communicate with Transportation Mobile Services Manager regarding maintenance and housekeeping requirements
HiBrid Front Desk Representative Responsibilities:
• Register patients for appointments, distribute appropriate form, certify insurance eligibility, and open medical encounter
• Confirm and update patient demographics in medical information system
• Calculate charges, collect patient payments, and balance monies with daily receipts per clinic protocol
• Assist patients with appointment scheduling, information requests and resource materials
• Enters data into required computer programs accurately and efficiently
• Demonstrates commitment to, and understanding of, BACH’s Behaviors for Success and GUEST (Customer Service Model), by modeling customer service excellence in all internal and external relationships and in the performance of all duties and responsibilities
• Work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and overtime, as necessary, working in multiple locations in Santa Clara and Alameda Counties.
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Perform all HiBrid tasks and Duties Associated with this Combined Role
• Working knowledge of preparing billing and accepting of payments (all modes of acceptable payments)
• Attends workshops, training, and meetings as needed, and as requested
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Required education, experience, training
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three months’ medical office experience or similarly related experience in customer service setting
• Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology and Medical Billing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Preferred education, experience, training
• One-year community health or public health experience
• Medical practice management system
• Bilingual; Spanish highly desirable
Certifications/Licenses:
• Access to reliable transportation
CA Driver’s License (must pass driver’s pre-insurance, CA State and FBI background checks

Work Conditions:
Travel locally to visit other sites, may require a day or overnight trip to attend events; workload may be demanding at times; require professionalism and confidentiality. The primary work areas will be outdoors and within a Mobile Clinic.
Physical Demands:
This position requires:
• Sitting, walking, and standing associated with a normal medical/clinical office environment
• Regular bending and stretching; and lifting
• Manual dexterity used to include, but not limited to, standard office equipment, and computer keyboard
• Traveling to work sites including some exposure to outside elements
• Reading and writing in order to review records for accuracy
• Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than 4 hours per day
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment
• Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training
