As a Health and Wellness Coach, you play a pivotal role in empowering individuals to improve and extend their healthspan-the period of life characterized by good Health and freedom from debilitating illnesses or chronic conditions.

As a Health and Wellness Coach at Optispan, you will guide and support individuals on their journey towards optimal Health and well-being. Your mission is to assist clients in making meaningful lifestyle changes, reducing the risk of age-related diseases, and enhancing their overall quality of life. In this role, you would be responsible for personalized coaching, education, and motivation to assist clients in making sustainable lifestyle changes.
A Healthspan Coach is a professional specializing in helping individuals improve and extend the quality of their lives. Partnering with our doctor to provide fact-based, positive feedback to our clients is the tool in this role's back pocket. The goal is to empower people with the relative knowledge that builds their ability to see a brighter, healthier future.
Anticipated hiring salary: $60,292-$87,424 dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Goal Setting: Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical history, lifestyle, nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and sleep patterns, to understand the client's current health status and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with clients to establish realistic health goals.
- Personalized Coaching: Provide one-on-one coaching and support to clients, creating individualized Health and Wellness plans tailored to their specific needs and goals.
- Nutrition Guidance: Offer nutritional guidance and education, helping clients make informed choices about their diet, food choices, and meal planning to promote healthspan.
- Physical Activity: Advise clients on appropriate exercise and physical activity routines based on their fitness level and health objectives, emphasizing the importance of regular movement for healthspan.
- Stress Management: Teach stress reduction techniques and coping strategies to improve mental well-being and overall health.
- Sleep Optimization: Provide recommendations for improving sleep quality and duration to enhance recovery and overall health.
- Behavioral Change: Employ behavior change techniques to help clients overcome obstacles, develop new habits, and maintain positive health behaviors.
- Monitoring and Progress Tracking: Continuously monitor clients' progress, making necessary adjustments to their plans and using data and feedback to assess improvements and setbacks.
- Education: Stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in healthspan, longevity, and aging to provide evidence-based advice and guidance to clients.
- Motivation and Support: Offer encouragement and motivation to keep clients engaged in their healthspan journey, reinforcing their commitment to long-term well-being.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., health coaching, nutrition, exercise science, public health).
- Certified Health Coach or equivalent certification (e.g., ACE Health Coach, Wellcoaches, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of healthspan, aging, and chronic disease prevention.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy and ability to establish a supportive and trusting relationship with clients.
- Understanding of behavior change theories and coaching techniques.
- Proficiency in data tracking and record-keeping.
- Adherence to ethical guidelines and privacy standards.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt coaching approaches to different client needs.
- Willingness to stay current with emerging trends in healthspan and longevity research.
