EHS Manager
Full-Time / Exempt / Remote work with regular overnight travel
The Environment, Health Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing and implementing an EHS strategy across TruckPro's domestic and Canadian businesses. As the company's principal leader, the EHS Manager is responsible for third party Contractor Consultant Management, KPI/Data Development and Reporting, as well as policy and proactive worksite safety and drivers training program development, deployment, and management. Collaborating with leadership team members, this role is responsible for developing proactive incident and accident case/claims management, reporting as well as Federal Recordkeeping. The EHS Manager will lead "E S" elements of the company's ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) strategy. Additionally, the incumbent will assist with multiple projects including but not limited to partnering with cross functional leaders to identify process and productivity improvements.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development Vendor Management:
  • Collaborate with Environmental Consultants to manage critical environmental initiatives, projects, and programs (such as risk mitigation, supplier services)
  • Lead companywide EHS committee, ensuring strong representation across business operations (sales, services, distribution, remanufacturing)
  • Develop understanding of site hazards, employee task hazards, job task hazard and EHS hazard evaluation process focused on hazard elimination first and hazard controls with Personal Protective Equipment, Guarding, LOTO, etc.
  • Develop and implement programs and process to manage workers compensation vehicle case claims management, subrogation, root cause analysis and risk mitigation.
  • Leverage a continuous improvement mindset, collaborating with the business to identify areas of improvement; participate in and develop and implement action plans to bring about improvement.

KPI Reporting:
  • Leverage data insights in partnership with leaders to identify and diagnose problem areas, develop, and implement sustainable solutions
  • Partner with leaders to develop and publish a balanced safety scorecard for KPI's fostering a business focus and Safety-oriented culture through Tableau (Data Insights); building an awareness of the fiscal and organizational impact of EHS
  • Provide data reporting to support requests from equity holders, business partners, and governmental agencies including and not limited to OSHA 300, TRIR, Workers Comp Claims Cost, Vehicle Accident Claims, etc.

Safety Training Compliance
  • Develop with key stakeholder input EHS, Compliance and Regulatory Training as well as Drivers training for New Associates, including remediation training for post incident accident.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development to ensure accurate training record keeping and documentation.
  • Assess and develop compliance programs and procedures associated with Hazardous Material handling and storage throughout operational footprint
  • Primary point of contact and interface with regulatory agencies, EPA, OSHA, state and local officials; collaborate with facilities in support of remediation and acquisitions as needed

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health Safety, Industrial Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant HR experience as an EHS leader in transportation, or manufacturing; Multi site preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience with OSHA Record Keeping and Workers Compensation Claims Management
  • DOT Recordkeeping experience preferred by not required

SKILLS ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work independently and quickly assess and resolve issues, while translating complex information into understandable terms.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to queries in a clear and concise manner.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations in multi-states.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products, advanced Excel skills desired.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication and analytical skills.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and proven abilities to be a team player in order to work in cross-functional teams, across multiple departments and all levels of the organization.
