Growth Marketing Manager

The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is the top professional women's soccer league in the USA, with 14 teams and +300 of the best soccer players globally. In its 12th season, the league continues to grow exponentially.
The NWSL shattered all-time fan attendance and viewership in 2023. In November 2023, the NWSL made history when it announced a four-year deal as the biggest deal in women's professional sports domestically with four broadcast partners for the 2024 season: Amazon Prime Video, CBS, ESPN and Scripps/ION.
The Growth Marketing Manager will play a critical role in the growth of NWSL and connecting with fans. This individual will help support performance marketing campaigns to drive audience growth and tune-in viewership. They will also help support the growth of the NWSL digital platforms, especially NSWL+, the league's first direct-to-consumer steaming service.
The successful candidate will have experience in audience development, growth, tune-in marketing, paid media, or D2C marketing. The candidate must be skilled in working cross-functionally, project managing complex projects, and have a growth mindset.
Responsibilities
50%: Drive Game Tune-In:
- Develop and manage campaigns across owned and paid media channels to drive viewership of games, content, and commerce.
- Manage paid media budget efficiently, allocating resources to the most effective channels and campaigns for maximum ROI.
- Segment audiences and create personalized content strategies, using data to drive engagement across email, paid media, and web.
- Create and own an experimentation roadmap to execute testing, validate hypotheses, and scale effective messaging across all major channels.
40%: Grow NWSL+:
- Develop and execute strategies to increase viewership, capture fan data, and improve the fan experience.
- Grow and optimize the customer experience on NWSL+ to increase viewership through A/B testing.
- Manage the publishing calendar for original content on NWSL+ to drive increased viewership.
- Maintain & curate the content on the NWSL+ and related content pages to reflect marketing goals.
- Work with the Business Intelligence team to report and communicate on performance to key stakeholders.
10%: NWSL+ OTT planning and operations: Project manager OTT on NWSL+
- Coordinate in-game advertising spots for each game on NWSL+ from brand, clubs and sponsors, ensuring all ad spots are accounted for and creative is delivered.
- Plan a separate strategy for pre-roll ads from brand, clubs and sponsors.
- Support Director of Growth to explore opportunities to expand monetization on the platform.
- Manage the day-to-day implementation and optimization of OTT ads via Google Tag Manager
Qualifications
- 4-6 years' experience in paid media, media planning, ad operations, or tune-in campaign development
- Experience overseeing the implementation of multi-channel promotional campaigns.
- A track record of using paid social to achieve business goals.
- Background in Direct-to-Consumer content, product management, sports, or subscription services preferred.

Salary: Estimate $85-100K - Bonus eligible based on performance
