About this role
Responsible for designing collegewide communications, marketing, advertising, and special events from conception to completion including visuals for digital marketing campaigns including email, website, social media and video. Ability to conceptualize and produce visual content that elevates the brand and user experience across multiple media platforms for many departments throughout the college.
What a day of a Graphic Designer looks like:
Manages all aspects of graphic design of marketing or media projects from development to completion.
  • Works with staff writers, editors as well as College department clients to develop creative concepts for publications.
  • Meets with internal and external stakeholders to advise on design approaches for digital communication initiatives.
  • Designs material for student recruitment, internal and external publications, promotional items, displays, signage, social media templates, newsletters, flyers, and posters.
  • Produces marketing materials for printing, college web site, social media, and other digital media.
  • Maintains aesthetic standards and ensures a consistent appearance with the created marketing identity and branding program.
  • Creates and produces appropriate images for easy uploading and fast regeneration on the college website and other digital media.
  • Maintains a current, high-quality source of photographic and illustrated images for publication.
  • Assists with quoting projects and coordinates with outside vendors, including printers, photographers, and design firms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
We’d love to hear from you if you have the following:
Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree or two years of college coursework
  • One year of related experience
Knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • QuarkXPress or similar application
  • Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Adobe Creative Cloud including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Macintosh
  • Social networking sites
Skilled in:
  • Writing with clarity, consistency, and precision
  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Researching information for problem solving
  • Project management design and analysis
  • Promoting cooperative behavior and team efforts
Ability to:
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, capacity to prioritize, process, and execute multiple projects at a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize effectiveness
Preferred, but not a must:
Knowledge of:
  • Canva or similar application
  • FTP for web maintenance and development
  • Web page update using FTP, basic HTML and related tools
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, install, or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds
  • Reach and grasp objects
  • Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Use of video display terminal
  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Identify and distinguish colors and shades of color
  • Communicate information orally and in writing
  • Receive and understand information through oral and written communication
  • Proofread and check documents for accuracy
  • Operate a motor vehicle

The minimum base pay range for this position starts at $38,804.00 - $42,684.40 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
