The Graphic Design and Web Specialist is a new position on the CWS marketing team and was developed to expand our capacity in the areas of graphic and Web design. The person in this position will manage a wide variety of creative projects – ranging from high-quality Graphic Design using Illustrator and InDesign, to the development of web pages, forms, events/campaigns, and marketing email messages using various platforms, page builders and HTML/CSS.
Responsibilities:- Create web, email and social graphics, digital ads and other assets consistent with campaign themes and objectives.
- Assist with the design of reports and other documents, often working with staff to translate technical and program content into user-friendly designs that are engaging, appropriate for the intended audience and optimized for print production and/or digital sharing.
- Build and maintain well-designed and optimized landing pages on multiple WordPress sites, using the provided theme and page builder, and using HTML and CSS customizations as appropriate.
- Assist with the creation and design of online forms using a variety of platforms (Gravity Forms, FormAssembly, GetFeedback and Typeform).
- Configure, Design and independently manage new fundraising campaign sites using our two peer-to-peer platforms.
- Assist with the design of email templates and reusable components using email-friendly HTML in our marketing automation platform.
- Develop and manage a schedule for website testing and site design reviews.
Other responsibilities
- Assist with the maintenance of our digital asset management system and photo library, particularly for the archival of final design files.
- Assist with quarterly marketing reports and review processes.
- Stay updated on design best practices, including industry standards related to graphic, web and email design.
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Graphic Design and proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- A portfolio of design work that demonstrates understanding of layouts, typography, color, composition and other design basics.
- Experience and proficiency with WordPress site development and maintenance, including page creation, plugin usage, HTML and CSS.
- Willingness and initiative to learn new skills related to the work, at times in an independent, self-directed manner.
- Desire to work in a creative, dynamic environment, collaborating frequently with teams of mostly remote staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized, capable and committed to completing and exceeding goals.
- Flexible, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and shift to new priorities when needed.
- A four-year degree in a related field of study is preferred.
