Job Description
Under the guidance of the Project Director, the Grant Writer will be responsible for drafting, developing, and submitting grant proposals on behalf of CPIN clients. These proposals may be aimed at federal, state, private, or individual funders and will encompass a wide variety of subject matter and complexity. Additionally, the Grant Writer may periodically be required to review grant-related materials, attend meetings or events related to projects, and work with clients to identify funding or programmatic needs and develop proposals related to those needs.
This is a fully remote part-time position. Compensation for this range is $30 to $35 dollars an hour, depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports proposal development activities for grants, contracts, Request for Proposals, or other funding mechanisms for the Company or Company’s Clients.
- Creates schedules and tracking calendars.
- Attends client meetings as needed.
- May register the Company or Company’s Clients in application portals or procurement systems.
- May schedule and participate in Client or Company meetings.
- Prepares and delivers progress reports.
- Creates positive relationships with clients and sponsor agencies.
- Assists in the tracking of Company and Client projects.
- Updates project status in the Company’s project tracking system.
- Organizes documents and files.
- Prepares reports and updates as requested by the Project Director.
- Participates in team meetings.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues and freelancers.
- Participates in training and professional development opportunities.
- Assures that the Company is professional and in compliance with all policies, regulations, and laws related to proposal development.
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Professional Writing, English, Public Administration or similar. Four or more years of professional experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Two or more years of relevant experience in grant writing and award management or substantially similar work with at least one year in federal-level grants.
- Two or more years of experience working with community based organizations, non-profit organizations, or local government organizations.
- Technical fluency with Microsoft Suite, Adobe DC, and Google.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check.
