Find your superpower with the Graduate Development Program
National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is an in-depth training and Development Program for high achieving recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we’ll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one – putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.
Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 4-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, Graduates begin working in their hired position and take part ongoing development activities through your first year including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Capstone Project at the completion of your first year with National Grid.
About the Position
As a member of the Portfolio Development & Resource Planning team, you will develop historical workload models to build near and long-term resourcing plans that will support construction and engineering resource workforce strategy decisions to deliver on regulatory, budgetary, and jurisdictional targets for the New England Transmission and Distribution business plans.
This is a hybrid role with flexible 1-3 days of work in the Northboro, MA office. You must reside within our existing footprint, which includes contiguous states (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont). A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Team by querying systems (e.g., SAP) to collect actual historical data to use for model development and maintenance.
- Identify trends and variances in historical data by analyzing planned versus actual work to support modifying current forward looking resource models that will ultimately recommend re-assigning of work.
- Provide Team with project data and support model creation in Primavera P6 for new investments sponsored by Asset Management for capital and expense work.
- Monitor and report on project progression during initial life cycle to keep projects from missing deadlines that impact the capital portfolio.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science is preferred from an accredited institution
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage large volumes of data
- Graduated between May 2023 and June 2024
- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on May 28, 2024 or July 8, 2024
- Valid US driver’s license
- Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Northboro, MA $65,000 - $77,000 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
