About the Position
As an Associate Analyst for Emergency Planning at National Grid, you will have the opportunity to be a part of exciting and meaningful work that contributes to keeping the energy flowing even on our coldest days! In this role, you will provide support to both the New England and New York National Grid Emergency Planning organizations. A great development opportunity to learn how Emergency Planning is conducted at a large energy company, interact with other business areas at National Grid, and be mentored by a fantastic team!
This is a hybrid role based in Waltham, MA with occasional travel throughout Massachusetts and New York. You must reside within our existing footprint, which includes contiguous states (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont). A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with personnel in various business units to ensure necessary resources are available and ready for emergency response.
- Support activities associated with all Emergency Response Organizations (ERO) as needed.
- Assist in managing the National Grid Storm Role assignment database and notification system.
- Support Emergency Planning activities of actual events at emergency operations centers or local on-scene locations.
- Collect, evaluate, analyze, and spread relevant Emergency Planning information to improve Emergency Response and readiness.
- Work cohesively and collaboratively, with a team first approach, in a fast-paced Emergency Response environment.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Graduated between May 2023 and June 2024
- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on May 28, 2024 or July 8, 2024
- Valid US driver’s license
- Proven leadership experience
- Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)
It would be awesome if you had
- Experience with Incident Command System
- Emergency Planning background (internship, clubs, opportunities)
