This is a full-time position that serves as the Systems Administrator and subject-matter expert for a variety of software systems used for investigative and analytical purposes both internally and throughout the state of Florida's criminal justice community. This position requires the ability to work independently, self-motivate, and work with an array of customers and vendors.

The position also requires excellent facilitation, a well-established technical aptitude, and customer service skills.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Specific duties include:* Overseeing the business processes associated with the coordination and maintenance of records and information related to the investigative, intelligence, and forensic functions of the department and the operation of the assigned systems. This includes the department's transmission or receipt of any records obtained from or sent to the external entities for the assigned systems;* Reviewing and analyzing data, identifying problems, and recommending corrective action regarding the assigned systems;* Preparing reports, recording the results of systems work performed, including recommendations for corrective action;* Conferring with management on studies and recommendations regarding systems' efficiency and effectiveness;* Serving as the subject matter expert for assigned internal systems including basic technical specifications and investigative/analytical functions;* Coordinating (and delivering, as needed) training related to assigned systems;* Conducting management studies and preparing written documentation to assist the Investigations & Forensic Science Division (IFS) in streamlining functions to promote efficient and effective accomplishment of the department's mission;* Providing research, analysis, and assimilation of information relative to policies, procedures, and guidelines that directly or indirectly have an impact on IFS data, and assists the section supervisor in the development and management of operational procedures; and* Communicates promptly and effectively with customers, both internal and external regarding assigned systems.To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S.

Department of Education.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience in planning, research and analysis, evaluation, or administrative work; or* A high school diploma or its equivalent and seven years of experience in planning, research and analysis, evaluation, or administrative work; or* Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of seven years.* A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.Note: 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of course work from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:* Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;* Knowledge of research and analysis techniques;* Skills to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;* Ability to become proficient in the use of, and business practices associated with law enforcement investigative, intelligence, or forensic systems;* Ability to grasp technical concepts efficiently;* Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize criminal intelligence data;* Ability to solve problems and make decisions independently;* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;* Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities;* Ability to organize data and information into logical formats for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials;* Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data in order to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work, and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices;* Ability to write comprehensive reports based on analysis of issues;* Ability to train and conduct presentations or demonstrations to large and small groups; and* Ability to perform advanced and highly sophisticated functions with a variety of specialized spreadsheet and data management software programs.BASE SALARY:* $51,320.27NOTES:Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy.
