Team / division overview
The COO Division is a key enabler for DWS and is integral to the future success of the company by delivering world-class services across a set of key functions. It covers essential Technology and Operations capabilities, including our data programs and digital transformation. The COO aims to deliver a platform which is efficient, scalable, resilient and agile.
Within the COO Division Data Management is responsible for designing and driving the execution of the data strategy at Group and Divisional/functional level as well as coordinating adherence to Data related processes and policies and any applicable local regulations.

Within the COO Division Data Management is responsible for designing and driving the execution of the data strategy at Group and Divisional/functional level as well as coordinating adherence to Data related processes and policies and any applicable local regulations.
Role Details
As a Data Governance Analyst you will:
- Identify and collaborate with data owners and stewards across different departments to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency
- Support a network of data owners and stewards with appropriate Data Governance
- Ensure DWS knows what and where the data it uses resides through the agreed DWS Data Governance tools
- Support the evaluation, selection and implementation of Data Governance tools and technologies to support Data Governance initiatives
- Regularly assess and refine Data Governance processes and policies in line with the industry best practice to promote continuous improvement
- Designing effective Data Management policies and processes which support the data strategy whilst enabling risk reduction and compliance with Data related regulatory requirements
- Ensuring DWS's Data Management frameworks are operational within the business divisions and/or infrastructure functions
- Ensuring adequacy of data sharing, access, retention and disposal for area of accountability, in accordance with defined processes.
We are looking for
- Experience in Data Governance and data management. ideally in a financial services environment
- Understanding of Data Governance concepts, principles and best practices e.g., DCAM, DAMA
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience of managing data and processes in an enterprise environment with an understanding of database and schema design
- Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at a strategic level
- Excellent communication, both in listening and conveying messages to a wide range of stakeholder groups
- Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, with an ability to develop creative and structured solutions
