Job Description
The Supply Chain Operations Manager role involves optimizing order fulfillment, quality, and margins on a global scale. Responsibilities include designing and improving Supply Chain Operations, managing manufacturing partners, reducing material costs, and mitigating risks for rapid growth. This is a direct hire, onsite role (in Edina), that pays a base salary around $100-110K (+ bonus, with total comp up $130K). This is a rough salary range, we are willing to pay based on experience!
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Strategy: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute Global Supply Chain strategies aligned with business needs.
- Partnerships: Serve as the primary contact for manufacturing partners, identifying and resolving supply issues, and proactively managing risk.
- Fulfillment Management: Oversee post-manufacturing Supply Chain, including RFQ processes for external partners in logistics and transportation.
- Demand Planning: Develop cross-functional tools with Sales and Finance for effective Supply Demand Planning, optimizing inventory and forecasts.
- Operational Excellence: Manage engineering change orders, ensuring compliance, and project-manage production readiness for New Product Introductions.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and maintain data-analytics/KPIs for continuous assessment and improvement of Supply Chain performance.
- Supplier Relations: Collaborate with executive management on QBR and SPI processes for key suppliers, ensuring adherence to engineering change orders.
- Quality Advocacy: Participate in and advocate for the quality system, working closely with R&D teams to align efforts.
- Cost Optimization: Initiate RFQ/RFP processes for purchased parts, building a network of diverse suppliers to meet growing product needs.
- Travel and Liaison: Travel as needed for in-person collaboration, liaising regularly with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Supply Chain.
- 5-10 Years managing an international Supply Chain, project management, contract manufacturing, or high-tech manufacturing.
- Experience with technical consumer products and/or connected iOT products preferred (hardware and software). Must be able to learn, teach and communicate technical product knowledge to team, customers and contractors.
- Experience with NPI and manufacturing operations and must include technology product experience. Preference for experience in NPI of complex electromechanical systems
- Experience in building high-performing Supply Chains; setting clear expectations, inspecting and performance managing contract manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers.
- Adept usage of common presentation and business software (Google Drive, Box, Microsoft Office), and business processes such as ECO/ECN and systems such as PLM (product lifecycle management) and eQMS (electronic quality management systems)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment, plan and organize with an eye toward both strategic and tactical goals, while diving into hands-on work where necessary
- Will be expected to visit contract manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors globally. Ability to support non-traditional working hours to support offshore partners. Traveling both domestically and internationally about 10X per year
