Supply Chain & Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Client is an award-winning cosmetics brand focused on setting a new standard of inclusivity in the beauty industry; they are seeking a Supply Chain and Operations Manager who will oversee the Supply Chain operations of the company and also manage relationship(s) with their retail partners, various warehouse team(s) and management procurement processes for the company.

Company Overview:

Pound Cake is an inclusive award-winning cosmetics company focused on offering cosmetics for multiple skin tones, undertones, and lip tones and representing/being represented by those most marginalized by the beauty industry. They recently won Pharrell Williams’ $1 Million Black Ambition Grant to pursue their goal of creating inclusive beauty products.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all Supply Chain operations, including purchasing, inventory, selection of vendors, and distribution of finished goods
• Assure all orders are shipped to both D2C and our retail partners (Ulta Beauty & Credo Beauty) on time and in full
• Manage and own a relationship with our 3PL warehouse team to ensure shipments are being received and shipped on time

• Manage and own a relationship with our 3PL warehouse team to ensure shipments are being received and shipped on time
• Manage and own the relationship with Ulta Beauty’s Supply Chain Team to fulfill POs on time while also complying with their “no chargebacks” policy
• Maintain ERP automatic interfaces via EDI, Warehouse, and e-commerce management, working with the ERP support team to ensure orders and confirmation in and out are being transmitted smoothly—with a prompt reaction to any errors.
• Tackle challenging business-critical problems, developing creative solutions, and collaborating with partners on execution
• Continuously identify opportunities for optimization and cost-savings through more efficient processes, negotiations, etc.
• Responsible for managing inventory counts, slow-moving inventory, inventory accuracy in the system (Inventory type, expiration date, cost, quantities etc.), coordinating with vendors re-packing supply, constantly improving the shipping costs and all other associated costs
Manage procurement processes, assuring smooth receipt in the warehouse, coordinate freight in and out to retail partners and e-commerce customers, all while keeping a cost-saving approach in mind

Experience working with Sephora and/or Ulta Beauty, Target is a must (candidates who don’t have this experience won’t be considered)

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in an operations position at a beauty, skincare, or haircare brand
• Experience working with a retailer like Ulta Beauty, Sephora, Target, or Macy’s is a must
• Familiarity with EDI programs such as SPS, OpenText, and PIM Portal
• Ability to be highly organized and an excellent communicator.

Working Conditions Details

• Hours of Work : This position is part-time, starting Monday through Friday .
• Overtime Expectations: Depending on events and the holiday season, weekends may be required; however, weekdays will be supplemented to compensate for work on the weekends.
• Work Environment: This is a fully remote position (EST). You must be a self-starter and independent.
• Travel requirements: This position doesn’t require any travel requirements.
• On-call responsibilities: During new launches in-store and online, we may ask for extra help past the hours of 5:30 p.m. EST , but we will communicate ahead of time.
• Working Hours: 20 hours (max) per week
• Role Type: Part-time, Remote
• Budget : $25 - $35USD per hour
