St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Geographic Information Systems Analyst for our well established Public Works Department located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida.

The St. Johns County Public Works Department maintains, preserves and protects the infrastructure resources of the County in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Public Works is made up of Engineering Services, Fleet Maintenance, and Road and Bridge.

The newly selected Geographic Information Systems Analyst is responsible for performing assigned Geographic Information System functions in support of department operations.
The ideal Geographic Information Systems Analyst candidate must possess St. Johns County's core values of compassion, innovation, and trustworthiness and must work well in a collaborative team environment. Some of the specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Processes and completes mapping work requests from county staff and the general public.
- Works with citizens and county personnel to coordinate related requests.
- Interprets and performs complex spatial analysis on GIS data layers to produce maps, reports, and other products.
- Assists in the development of GIS applications for use by county staff and the general public
- Develops scripts and related applications to assist in performing assigned duties; Develops and maintains GIS data layers and metadata.
- Maintains equipment, software, and end-products, including but not limited to a library of frequently requested maps.
- Provides training and technical support for end-users.
Candidates for the Geographic Information Systems Analyst are encouraged to apply if they meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related course of study to the occupational field.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position.
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills in order to serve others.
- Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
- Must be able to operate a computer.
