Gis Project Lead

Candidate Specification
We invite candidates to apply with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• GIS skills or knowledge.
• No mandatory field work or OSHA training.
• Hybrid office schedule.
• Remote setup must be in a quiet room with a closable door for Teams discussions and training.
  • Company will provide all essential hardware that is to only be used on the project and not for personal tasks. Hardware components consist of two 24" monitors, laptop, docking station, keyboard, headset, and mouse.
  • A proper workplace with a comfortable chair and sturdy desk or table no less than 60"x24" is required for optimal production. The company will not provide these items.
• Ability to handle repetitive tasks, be detail-oriented in a production/metrics driven environment.
• Ability to adapt to project/standard changes while meeting tight deadlines.

Software and skills:

• ESRI ArcGIS Mapping, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• SmallWorld GIS a plus.
• MS Office.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Attention to detail.
• Multi-tasking and adaptability.
• Construction drawing knowledge a plus.

Job Description
Mott MacDonald is seeking a full-time GIS professional for our Iselin, NJ office.
Responsibilities include the following:

• GIS (Geographic Information Systems) The Project Lead will train technicians on how to utilize the GIS software and how to execute client approved procedures pertaining to the project.
• The Project Lead will QC all work thoroughly and will provide constructive criticism in the feedback to technicians.
• The Project lead will assist in the review of scanned in records from construction site and verifying the information on those records in a GIS.
• GIS work for utility field records; Project Lead will assess as-builts, historical documents, mapping/survey data and provide data validation and verification. Results of the verification will be logged in an Excel spreadsheet.
• The Project Lead will be checking information coming in from the field, so they need to be meticulous, follow rules and do not "assume" anything.
• There are performance metrics associated with the tasks which will either comply with their standards or not.
• The Project Lead will also be responsible for monitoring the client's SharePoint site and ensuring that there is a continuous workflow.
• The Project Lead will be responsible for updating procedure documents and making sure that all documents pertaining to the project are current with the client's approved standards.
• The Project Lead will be responsible for submitting Questions/Issues to our client to get clarification on specific scenarios.
• The Project Lead will be responsible for answering questions that Technicians may have pertaining to the project.
