Position Summary
The GIS Business System Analyst I will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to convert, analyze, and manipulate spatial data using GIS tools and techniques. Has a strong foundation in geographic concepts and spatial analysis techniques. Understand the geographical aspects of business processes and how to integrate GIS technology to address business challenges. Assist in the development, maintenance, and analysis of geospatial data. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to convert, analyze, and manipulate spatial data. Ensure accuracy, data quality, and usability of geospatial data. Support the integration of GIS technology to solve business challenges.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in coordinating the acquisition, analysis, and maintenance of data for the ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise and the IBM Maximo Spatial.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and up-to-date data management.
- Support data analysis tasks and contribute to data quality assurance efforts. Create and maintain Geospatial maps and applications including Dashboards and Field Maps.
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with ESRI GIS related systems and tools such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Visio for process drawings.
- Basic knowledge of SQL scripting.
- Ability to work with Oracle databases and extract data for analysis
- Understanding of Windows Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with GIS programming concepts.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and Desktop workflows for data publishing.
- Basic understanding of how ArcGIS for Server connects to enterprise geodatabases and identification of connection issues.
- Awareness of ESRI Utility Network / Geometric Network is a plus.
- GISP certificate and GIS-related certifications are advantageous.
- Familiarity with Python, including packages like pandas and NumPy, with a focus on processing spatial data on ESRI platforms.
Qualifications
Required Background:
- Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience. Degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
