Primary Position Responsibilities:
- Complete general dishwashing duties demonstrating safe and sanitary working habits that fully comply with UZRC infection control standards of care, policies and procedures.
- Safely distribute, transport, set, and clean dishware, flatware, glasses, cups, and mugs.
- Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
- Clean and roll/unroll mats.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Conduct general dining room cleaning as directed.
- Answer phone using proper etiquette.
- Participate in staff meetings and department meetings.
- Additional responsibilities determined necessary by Culinary Services.
Secondary Position Responsibilities:
- Server responsibilities which include plating up and serving resident meals to the residents of at designated times including safe serving of hot and cold food as well as hot and cold beverages.
- Daily duties include clearing away dishes, setting tables, and ensuring that each work and dining area are appropriately stocked with the required items to complete meal delivery at each mealtime.
- Ensure that each dining room is properly set to standards of care and service to provide the best possible dining experience for each resident depending on the residents’ individual needs.
- Document refrigerator, freezer and food temperatures as assigned.
- Complete daily sanitation logs as assigned.
- Demonstrate resident centered customer service skills.
- Read menus and follow special diet instructions, read, speak, and follow written and oral instructions.
- Operate kitchen equipment including a dishwasher, bench mixer, can opener, food processor, coffee maker, stove, convection oven, microwave oven, food blender, and steam table safely and effectively.
- Cleaning - kitchen equipment and kitchen and dining room area.
- Handle and serve food in accordance with sanitary regulations, State Department of Health, County Department of Health, and Department of Public Welfare.
- Demonstrate safe/sanitary working habits that fully comply with infection control standards of care, policies, and procedures.
- Transport food trucks in a manner safe for yourself, residents, other employees, and visitors in the hallways.
Position Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
- Able to speak, read, and write the English language.
- Ability to work under time limits, adapt to change, be mentally alert and accurate in measurement.
- Flexible, caring, ability to get along well with co-workers.
- Understand and assist in the delivery of special diets ordered by the physician.
- Must have basic computer skills, familiarity with therapeutic diets, knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety/sanitation and customer service.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.22 - $37.60 per hour
