General Manager -Salaried Exempt
The Lakefront, Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for salaried exempt, (not subject to overtime) General Manager to join our team. At the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, we strive to deliver a memorable experience for our guests. Situated on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is the perfect starting point to explore the many wonders Alaska has to offer. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel boasts 248 rooms and three outstanding food and beverage outlets.
The role of the General Manager, is responsible for the management of the hotel to ensure efficient and profitable operation by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Typical duties of the General Manager include:

• Monitors performance of Executive Office Committee team members.
• Authorizes purchase orders from department managers.
• Processes weekly and monthly forecast projections.
• Work closely with corporate office and parent company regarding updating and upgrading the hotel.
• Oversees the operations of the hotel and ensures departments are successfully managed.
• Works closely with Sales and Marketing on promotions and special events.
• Works closely with EC members to ensure budgets and financial targets are achieved.
• Responsible for overseeing the goals and profit for the hotel is met.
• Supports and enforces policies and procedures of the hotel.
• Respond and resolve guest complaints or concerns in a timely manner.
• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/ her attention so that corrective action is taken when appropriate.

The successful applicant will:

• Have at least five years hotel experience in a full-service hotel preferred.
• Have a Bachelor's Degree preferred; however, any combination of education, training and experience within hotel sales may also be considered.
• Must be flexible and able to meet short deadlines.
• Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy.
• Perform the duties of the position in a safe manner.
• Be professional and respectful in all interactions with guests and associates.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and leaders to complete property/corporate initiatives and effective day-to-day operations.
• Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate in a friendly and positive manner with internal and external clients and staff.
• Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints.
• Mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to take ownership and be accountable for the hotel.
• Personal computer knowledge desirable (Delphi, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel).
• Ability to establish and master goals.
• Patience, tact and diplomacy.
• Physical activities include walking, talking, hearing, standing, bending, lifting, and sitting.
