Weld Air seeks a driven and knowledgeable individual to join their team as General Manager. In this role, you will provide leadership, direction, and coordination for all branch sales and operational functions.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Coordinate and direct commercial and operational management to achieve maximum results of customer service, operational excellence and sales profitability.
- Develop, implement and sustain effective training programs as part of staff development and to ensure optimal organizational performance.
- Manage appropriate inventory levels by procuring from steel mills and forecasting usage.
- Ensure compliance with all employment, safety and environmental regulatory agencies/regulations.
- Ensure that staff are effectively being developed, routinely evaluated and provided with ongoing performance feedback. Hire, staff, train, coach, discipline staff as appropriate.
- Accounting responsibilities including accounts payable, writing checks, QuickBooks entries, and accounts receivable.
- Make all bank deposits and communicate payroll information to 3rd party accountants.
- Direct selling including filling in for counter sales and phone sales along with pulling and loading orders.
- Read shop drawings, create material takeoffs and quote fabrication jobs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous management experience of at least five (5) years, preferably in the steel industry.
- Strong customer service aptitude.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office suite.
- Analytical ability to review and understand standard business metrics.
- Effective presentation skills for internal and external groups.
- Able to create and direct a high-performing team.
- Organized and attentive to goals and deadlines.
- Able to multi-task successfully in a rapidly growing and changing environment.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned, with or without notice.
- Must follow standard operating processes and procedures (SOPs) for the position.
