Job description

Job purpose
The General Manager is responsible for the financial and operational health of the organization in partnership with the Board of Directors. The GM is mission and vision-focused, inquisitive, and a creative-minded leader that scales the organization, leads the executive management team, and develops a performance culture among a group of diverse, talented individuals. The GM directs, administers, and delegates the activities of the organization in support of meeting goals and objectives established by the Board of Directors by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate executives. Some travel may be required.

  • Enhance and execute OES's mission and vision to grow the business, employees, and operations to ensure OES success for years to come
  • Build strategic relationships and maintain the company's core group of affiliates to expand business profit potential
  • Strategically guide and direct executives in the development, production, promotion, and financial aspects of the organization's creative services
  • Establish and direct the preparation of short-term and long-term plans, budgets, and forecasting based on broad corporate goals and growth objectives
  • Maintain a sound plan of corporate organization; establish practices that ensure adequate management development and provide for capable management succession
  • Evaluate the results of overall operations regularly and systematically report results to the Board of Directors
  • Ensure the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are clearly defined and understood
  • Exhibit effective leadership that motivates and empowers subordinates to achieve and excel
  • Understand and administer end-to-end effective communications, marketing strategies, and brand initiatives
  • Ensure all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations
  • Plan and direct all investigations and negotiations pertaining to strategic contracts, mergers, joint ventures, the acquisition of businesses, or the sale of major assets with approval of the Board of Directors
  • Represent the organization with major clients, stakeholders, the financial community, and the public
  • Establish and sustain an inclusive and creative company culture
  • Drive brand awareness and brand advocacy to exceed projected store goals to include teaming up with partners in local market to raise awareness across the region
  • Serve as the leading example in providing premium customer experience and build relationships with our consumers
  • Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and brand presentation
  • Develops and maintains operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, costs, and expenses.
  • Provides input to the development of service strategy and research and development of new and emerging services.
  • Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of services
  • Provides guidance to the development of a process plans, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, and equipment needs.
  • Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Reviews operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing, and data for reports.
  • Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Review and negotiate Salesman Contracts annually
  • Oversee and approve all Equipment trade units and values
  • Oversee sales, contracts, quotes and processes
  • Manage Equipment inventory for location, working with other location(s)/ Vendors as needed

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university in a work-related discipline or field; a minimum of ten years of executive experience. A minimum of ten years of industry experience. A minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
Language Ability:
Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries. Write speeches and articles using innovative techniques. Make persuasive presentations on complex topics to management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Ability:
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Apply logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with nonverbal symbolism (e.g., formulas and equations) in difficult phases. Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
Data Management; Adobe Creative Suite; Premiere; Office 365 software collaborative tools (share-drive, calendar, docs, sheets, slides); Project Management software; Accounting software; MS Office
Certificates and Licenses:
No certifications required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises other executives, managers, and or direct employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
