Provides functional support and analysis for one or more of the university's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application modules.
- Reviews requests for programming revisions and drafts specifications for software applications development.
- Reviews and drafts recommendations for business process changes impacted by new development and revisions to software applications.
- Tests programming revisions and new development of software applications.
- Tests software patch sets, bundles, and upgrades. Monitors application through testing phase and suggests improvements or changes to application lead.
- Troubleshoots and assists service-related departments with issues relating to software applications.
- Updates and maintains set up tables.
- Assists departments with maintaining data integrity and the set up and maintenance of security.
- May design and develop training materials and conducts training sessions for end users as needed.
- Creates and modifies standard and ad-hoc queries and reports. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The College of MedicineFunctional Analyst plays a key role in understanding business needs, designing effective solutions, and building custom applications using systems like Quickbase, MS365 Power Platform, and other tools to drive operational efficiency and enhance data-driven decision-making.
· Gather and analyze business requirements: Work closely with stakeholders across the College to understand their pain points, goals, and desired functionalities for applications.
· Design and develop applications: Create user-friendly, intuitive, and scalable applications that meet business requirements, leveraging available features and tools in various systems effectively.
· Build data-driven solutions: Design data structures, implement workflows, automate processes, and visualize data to support decision-making.
· Integrate with other systems: Create seamless integrations between business applications systems as needed to streamline workflows and data exchange.
· Conduct testing and quality assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of developed applications through thorough testing and troubleshooting.
· Provide training and support: Train employees on the new applications, provide ongoing support, and address any technical issues that may arise. Empower non-technical users to create custom solutions, fostering collaboration and innovation among College departments.
· Stay up-to-date with business application updates: Continuously learn and adapt to new features and best practices within the application platforms used to develop applications.
Desired Skills and Experience
· Proficiency in application development, including experience with formulas, relationships, reporting, and integrations strongly preferred.
· Excellent understanding of database design principles and data modeling techniques.
· Experience with Quickbase strongly preferred.
· Experience building or integrating with MS365 applications like SharePoint Online and MS Power Platform.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
