JOB DUTIES
- Greet and check-in patients and on-site visitors as they arrive in the office. Answer questions about organization and provide callers with address, directions, and other information.
- Review patient-completed documents for completeness and obtain additional information as necessary
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, referrals, as needed, when patients are seen in the office.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and route to appropriate personnel. Take and deliver messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are available.
- Prepare outgoing mail and sort and distribute incoming mail
- Maintain fax machines, assist users, send faxes, and retrieve and route incoming faxes.
- Ability to float between office locations to meet daily clinic need
- Other duties as assigned
- REQUIREMENTS *
- Has completed high school/GED. Secretarial and/or business courses, medical terminology preferred.
- One year experience in a public contact environment required. Employment in a physician’s office preferred
- Able to deal compassionately, professionally and courteously with patients and families.
- Detail oriented.
- Familiar with computer and telephone operations.
