OUR FRONT DESK MANAGER POSITION
The primary focus for our Front Desk Manager position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Front Desk. It is the Front Desk manager's responsibility to manage Front Desk activities including resident, visitor and associate services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make daily announcement on telephone activities line
- Direct package delivery and pick-up system
- Arrange for immediate response to medical and physical plant emergencies as necessary including when executive director and property manager are away from the building.
- Maintain daily event report log and review each day.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Know the building security and emergency systems.
COMMITTEE FUNCTION
- Serve on, participate in and attend various committees of the facility as appointed.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or the improvement of services.
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., to keep abreast of current changes in the field, as well as to maintain a professional status
PERSONNEL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with department staff as well as other departments within the facility to assure that Front Desk procedures meet the needs of the facility.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of Front Desk staff.
- Schedule department work hours, work assignments, etc., to provide continuous coverage of Front Desk.
- Develop and implement ongoing training programs for Front Desk staff, in coordination with HR specialist.
- Know established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
- Know established ergonomics policies and procedures governing lifting techniques, repetitive tasks and the use of safety equipment and supplies to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Know established building emergency procedures.
- Know established policy regarding Event Reporting Policies and Procedures for events involving property, damage, occupational illness and residents, personnel or visitor injury.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
- Ensure that residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must have two-year's experience in a supervisory capacity in an office setting.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

LOCATION
This position is based at Revitz House, our affordable living residence located at 6111 Montrose Road in Rockville, Maryland. Revitz House currently has 239 residents.
SHIFTS & STATUS
This is a FULL TIME, EXEMPT position with flexible hours between 8a-5:30pm.
