The Brass Tacks:
- Establish and uphold standards, policies, and procedures for the Front Office team
- Performing Front Desk agent duties as necessary, such as registration, check out and processing room reservations for guests.
- Handles escalated guest complaints and requests as needed while also encouraging empowerment.
- Resolves issues in a timely manner satisfactory to both the guest and the hotel
- Hold or ensure pre-shift meetings are taking place
- Communicate daily with department managers and pass on pertinent information
- Monitor the performance of team members on an on-going basis and provide feedback.
- Ensure staff is properly groomed and uniformed at all times
- Facilitate/ensure new hire training
- Be familiar with the operating procedures of all other areas of the hotel.
- Handle guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible. ·
- Prepare the department's weekly schedule, responsible that all daily shifts are covered with adequate staff for any anticipated business levels
- Ensures Front Desk team is following efficient reception experience for guests, including check in/out, logging all the notes and maintenance requests on guest folio
- Assist Hotel GM/Director of Operations in leading the sales efforts in booking groups, managing group inventory and reservations.
- Coaching and Training Front Desk staff. Promote a culture of exceptional hospitality
- Demonstrate leadership skills and collaborate with other departments within the hotel
- Marketing, social media, planning, communicating, promoting and support Hotel Ballard and Ballard Inn portfolio.
- Perform additional duties as requested by Hotel GM/Director of Operations

The Nitty Gritty
- At least 1-year Front Desk supervisor experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- The ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
- The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group, clients, customers and the general public.
- Strong computer skills: Full knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Outlook, Excel and Word.
