Job Summary

Equipment and Support Desk Manager to oversee the maintenance, acquisition, and deployment of Audio-Visual equipment used for Eventions events. Develop and maintain the inventory management program, ensuring proper barcoding and documentation of all equipment. Handle the reservation of equipment for all Eventions events. Coordinate with event planners, service-desk, and technician team, to ensure the successful implementation of AV equipment. Monitor Equipment and technician-tool stock levels, ensuring orders are placed to keep inventory at appropriate levels. Maintain the organization and cleanliness of equipment storage rooms.

In addition, manage the AV Checkout FTE rental program. Train onboarding technicians in the proper use of Equipment and correct safety procedures. Develop & maintain excellent relationships with the event planning team, acting as a liaison, to assist with the understanding and proper integration of AV equipment into campus-wide events.

The Equipment and Support Desk Manager is directly responsible for managing & leading their direct reports overseeing all aspects of the lines of business outlined. The Equipment Manager is responsible for the maintenance and deployment of all AV Equipment and expected to interface seamlessly with all departments associated with the events team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds-out and maintains inventory management system.
  • Maintains expertise of all supported AV technologies used in Eventions events.
  • Provides support to event planning team, assisting with knowledge regarding the proper implementation of AV equipment, ensuring successful events.
  • Monitors equipment stock levels and places orders accordingly.
  • Tracks equipment usage in all services. Completes weekly equipment checks, and periodic audits of inventory lists.
  • Maintains the organization and cleanliness of storage rooms campus wide.
  • Assists with the onboarding of new technicians, training staff for the successful use of Audio-Visual equipment, ensuring safety procedures are followed and equipment is properly maintained.
  • Manages the AV Checkout FTE rental program, coordinating pick-ups and returns as needed.
  • Tracks usage of AV equipment in all services.
  • Manages equipment bookings, coordinating with event planners and service desk to ensure needs are met.
  • Receives and integrates newly acquired equipment into the inventory. Ensuring they’re cased and labeled appropriately.
  • Keeps technicians stocked with the tools they need to succeed. Maintains reserve stock levels, promoting the seamless onboarding of new technicians.
  • Partners with other functional leaders in the environment to ensure effective cross-functional business delivery; models and holds direct reports accountable for effective collaboration and conflict resolution with department management and associates.
  • Responsible for bringing forth innovations and initiatives to continuously improve operational delivery.
  • Works directly with other department leaders to achieve enterprise goals & initiatives and ensure the highest level of satisfaction for customers & clients.
  • Identify team purchasing needs and make purchase requests, including providing justifications
  • Support the Microsoft mission and Compass Group objectives of customer service, operational excellence, teamwork, process improvement, leading by example and exceptional character
  • Adhere to Microsoft information security policies and best practices
  • Escalate unresolvable and/or out-of-scope issues to management in a timely fashion

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Audiovisual or Broadcasting industry
  • Must have working understanding of modern web conferencing and live video technologies
  • Must be knowledgeable in audio and presentation systems, including control systems
  • Must be able to troubleshoot audiovisual systems and equipment, including remotely
  • Experience in leading large, multi-faceted teams required.
  • Experience in all aspects of client & vendor management & partnerships required.
  • Ability to analyze client needs & requests, think strategically, possess business & time management skills, as well as the initiative & judgment to quickly evaluate issues, find alternatives & take appropriate courses of action.
  • Must have excellent change management and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational, reporting, and documenting skills
  • Competent in relative Microsoft applications - Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Familiarity with web-based management & business intelligence systems preferred.
