Position Title:Front Desk Associate Part-Time Third Shift 11P.M.-7A.M.
Title of Immediate Supervisor:Front Desk Manager
Main Function: Performs daily duties of the Front Desk in a manner that conveys hospitality, efficiency, and genuine interest in the hotel’s guests. Ensures every guest has a positively memorable experience every time! The number one responsibility of the Front Desk is customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establishes a warm welcome and professional atmosphere for guests by giving ultimate service and cooperation.
- Carry out the requirements of a AAA Four-Diamond hotel and perform all duties in accordance with these standards.
- Greet guests as they arrive at the Front Desk.
- Register guests using their names and give them all necessary information regarding their stay at the hotel.
- Respond to inquiries about the property; be knowledgeable of the hotel’s services, amenities, the various room types and features, rates, packages, restaurant, and retail shops.
- Assign rooms to guests, post charges, and collect payment from guests for the room and related charges.
- Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
- Is responsible for accurate handling of funds and proper audit verification; prepares a cash turn-in at the end of shift and is responsible for a cash bank.
- Sell Charley Creek Inn Gift Cards.
- Operates the switchboard efficiently and courteously, takes messages, and handles incoming and outgoing fax documents for hotel guests.
- Report any unusual occurrences or requests to a manager and fill out an incident report when necessary.
- Keeps the Front Desk clean and neat.
- Anticipate and fulfill the needs of all guests.
- Provide guests with information on the hotel and regional history.
- Answer guest inquiries regarding local area attractions and provide directions to them.
- Completes accurate room reservations and follows through with confirmations.
- Performs Guest Services functions (including escorting a guest to their room, carrying luggage, and providing guest room tours).
- Assist in other areas of the hotel as business demands require.
- Available to work flexible hours, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Able to meet a schedule that is subject to frequent changes on short notice.
- Abides by and enforces all policies and procedures as set forth by the owners of Charley Creek Inn and the General Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge/Experience Requirements: Must be able to communicate with guests, use guest names, be pleasant, and professional, and have a well-groomed appearance. Takes pride in self and in position and is committed to high standards. Knowledge of Wabash City and County is a plus. Basic computer skills required. Previous hotel front office experience and knowledge of computerized hotel front office systems preferred. Must be able to work alone without close supervision. Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work under pressure. Must possess the ability to learn quickly and effectively. Must possess the ability to perform many tasks at once while collecting all details accurately. Able to complete tasks to hotel standards in the allotted amount of time.
