Front And Back Office Medical Assistant

Position summary for Medical Assistant - Front and Back Office will perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. The duties of Medical Assistant - Front and Back Office will perform clinical duties in accordance with state law.

FRONT OFFICE

• Front desk reception, answer phones and schedule appointments
• Greets patients and assist with signing in
• Files and maintains medical and financial records
• Verify insurance eligibility
• Process outside referrals and authorizations management
• Performs other position related duties as assigned
• Calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy
• Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology
• Follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct

BACK OFFICE

• Measures and records vital signs, patient medical history and chief complaints
• Prepares patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
• Assists physician with exams and other procedures
• Phlebotomy, collection of lab specimens, perform basic lab tests
• Prepares and administers medications and injections with physician authorization
• Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments
• Maintains clean facility, rooms and waiting area

Qualifications and Skills:

• MA Certified
• Internal Medicine experience is a plus
• BLS Certified

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
