Freelance Avid Video Editor

We have an immediate opening for a experienced Freelance Avid Video editor.

The project will run approximately 5-8 weeks and could potentially lead to regular work .

You must have experience with Avid Media Composer and willing to work on location 5-days a week in Parsippany NJ.

Responsibilities:
- Edit and assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director's vision
- Collaborate with the creative team to determine the sequence and arrangement of shots
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
- Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects to enhance the production value
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of the final product
- Review and edit raw footage to create a cohesive story
- Experiment with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements
- Ensure all editing deadlines are met

Requirements:
- Proven work experience as an Avid Video Editor
- Strong knowledge of Avid video editing techniques and software
- Familiarity with various video formats and codecs
- Solid understanding of visual storytelling principles
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and precision in editing
- Knowledge of typography and graphic design principles is a plus
- Familiarity with content management systems is a plus

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 40 per week
