The Prudential Communications team directs communications efforts to ensure the company's messages are aligned and delivered in accordance with Prudential's goals and policies. The organization is evolving as a dynamic ecosystem of subject matter and skill set experts who interact with leaders and colleagues at all levels across Prudential. We are expanding our Communications Enablement organization and looking for a versatile and passionate professional with an impressive background in post-production to join our team as a manager, senior editor, to edit video content that exceeds expectations.
Reporting to the Vice President of Creative Services for Prudential Communications, the Senior Video Editor role will manage, assemble, and shape digital assets to craft cohesive narratives in a digestible and visually appealing format. This involves researching and sourcing internal and external online content, music, stock libraries, production elements, b-roll footage, photos, videos, etc. In this capacity, the Senior Editor will work closely with producers to produce and/or edit pieces independently while reviewing the script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes' value and contribution to continuity. This individual will also assist in project management in collaboration with our production coordinator.
The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:

  • You will work collaboratively with writers, producers, directors, and strategists to achieve ambitious communications goals
  • Edit high-quality and polished short-form video content while meeting tight deadlines
  • Troubleshoot and solve common software and hardware issues
  • Be a true creative partner driving to achieve great outcomes through video, using your powers of influence to steer cross-collaborative teams toward the best ideas
  • You will conceptualize, design, and create high-end motion graphics focusing on modern aesthetics, bold new ideas, and compelling illustrations of non-visual financial concepts.
  • Serve as a consultant, subject matter expert, and leader who collaborates with colleagues at various levels of the organization and steer the team toward the best outcome
  • Serve as a leader and mentor to junior and freelance Video Editors while providing constructive edit notes
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to infuse fresh perspectives into our video content and increase efficiency and impact
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador, directly and indirectly contributing to the ongoing transformation of the Communications Enablement capability and overall function

What you'll need:
  • Minimum five years of experience creating video content (Samples required along with role explanation)
  • In-depth knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, and professional video format and codecs required. Knowledge of AVID Media Composer a plus
  • High proficiency with color spaces (Wide Gamut, SDR, HDR, Rec709, and BT2020), LUTs, color correction, and grading using waveform, histograms, and vector scope data
  • High proficiency in color correction and audio sweetening
  • Grace under pressure with a high degree of comfort operating in fluid, rapidly changing situations
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • You have a keen eye for quality and following style guides and brand guidelines
  • Highly organized, resourceful, adaptable, and eager to stay two steps ahead of the production process
  • A keen attention to detail with the ability and willingness to manage competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively depending on the project and the progress made
  • You have great people skills with the ability to effectively communicate/influence business partners who are not well versed in video post-production and build strong relationships at all levels

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $115,800.00 to $172,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
