Job Description
Frazer and Jones currently has an opening for a Welder / Fabricator in our maintenance department. This is a 1st or 3rd shift position, working from 6 AM - 2:30 PM Monday through Friday (1st), or 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM Sunday through Thursday (3rd).
Essential Job Functions:
1. The Welder / Fabricator will execute work assignments requiring the ability to use tools and perform the common work to a recognized trade such as welding, fabricating, and potentially carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing, etc.
2. Repair various items around the manufacturing plant, inclusive of machinery, tools and other assignments. Cut, weld, braze, solder and fabricate work to size and shape.
3. Follow specific maintenance planning tasks such as lay out work and executing on deliverables.
4. Assist other maintenance personnel when needed or assigned.
5. Able to read, write, and analyze prints, sketches, instruction manuals, and other materials, following instructions and assigned task by foreman / supervisor
6. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE.
7. Perform work requiring a broad knowledge of recognized skilled trade(s).
8. Use instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tachometers and all types of burning equipment.
9. All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Welding experience from journeyman training, MACNY, BOCES or alike very desirable.
Language Skills:
Must have the ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Make calculations for estimating materials and tool requirements. Ability to use rulers, levels, protractors etc.
Experience: 3 years in Manufacturing environment preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.23 - $24.90 per hour, over time paid after 8 hours in a day / 40 hours in a week. Over time is regularly available.
