Welder/Vessel Fabricator

We are located in Altamont, NY, and are looking to hire a full-time Welder/Vessel Fabricatorto join our team on the 2nd shift in our Pipe & Vessel Shop. Give us a call to schedule an interview and welding test.

Job Requirements:

  • Proficient in rooting (including cover passes) a pipe or vessel utilizing GTAW and Backing gas.
  • Ability to cut, bend, drill, tap, and similar operations as required to fabricate intricate assemblies.
  • Experience operating bridge cranes and forklift trucks.
  • Must be ability to read engineering fabrication drawings, layout, and weld pipe and/or structural fabrications.
  • Candidate must be able to follow written procedures and work instructions.
  • Capable of lifting 30 pounds
  • Capable of climbing
  • Able to bend and twist body in various positions.
  • Able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to use two hands and two feet or equivalent to perform the tig welding process.
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with his or her coworker during assembly procedures.
  • Must have good vision to control the size of the weld puddle to achieve high quality welds.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment weld test.

Experience:

  • 3+ years welding experience
  • Welding certification from a recognized institution preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Job Type: Full-time. Second shift 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm M-F (1st shift training period TBD)

Compensation commensurate with experience plus 10% shift differential.
