We are one of the leading HVAC installation and service companies located in Suffolk County, NY. Our continued growth has created an opportunity for an assistant to join our team.
This position works with our team in the fabrication process in a high level of quality, profitability and by meeting or exceeding the construction schedule. In this role, you will assist the warehouse team, working with multiple departments and learn as you grow with the company.
Duties:
- Fabricate and assemble metal parts and structures according to blueprints and specifications
- Operate machinery such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and soldering equipment
- Perform machining and welding tasks to shape and form metal materials
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and smooth metal surfaces
- Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Assist with shop and warehouse daily clean up
- Assist with receiving deliveries and loading trucks for departing deliveries
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production processes
Requirements:
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of metalworking techniques
- Experience in metal fabrication, welding, or related field
- Proficiency in operating machinery such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and soldering equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints
- Knowledge of pipe threading techniques is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions
