SUMMARY: The Welder is responsible for joining assemblies together through the application of approved welding procedures. These responsibilities include use of high heat equipment and welding processes such as FCAW and GTAW on large structural steel assemblies for dam, hydro projects and custom steel fabrication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method to use based on requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specified welding procedure
- Use proper PPE
- Cleaning tools and equipment to prevent damage
- Cleaning work areas before and after welding projects to remove debris and dust
- Comply with safe welding practices and environmental standards (per EPA and OSHA regulations)
- Follow AWS/AISC best welding practices
- Operate within D1.1, D1.5 and D1.6 code
- Operate angle grinders to prep areas to be welded
- Align components using various measuring tools
- Ability to identify and repair non-conforming welds
- Ability to work from scaffolding
- Ability to operate overhead crane and jib crane

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
