Job Description

The Foster Parent Training Specialist provides education, assistance, and training to Foster Parents in order to ensure quality service delivery and ongoing training and support. This position also identifies topics relevant to issues Foster Parents are experiencing and develops and implements training and support plans.

The Foster Parent Training Specialist will instruct training sessions in group settings, in‐home, and one‐on‐one with Foster Parents.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services field from an accredited college or University

Schedule:

  • This position offers a Flexible Hybrid-Remote, Full-Time schedule.

Compensation:

  • $43,500 - $46,000 annually

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years old to apply.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in children and family services.
  • Experience training large groups of people and coordinating/hosting community events.
  • Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check required.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid auto insurance

Essential Duties:

  • Identifies training topics relevant to issues Foster Parents are experiencing and implement the training and support.
  • Shadows staff and meet with Foster Parents regularly to specifically identify areas requiring additional training of foster homes; and provide follow up training and coaching as needed.
  • Maintains working relationships/communication with Children’s Division, courts, and other community partners.
  • Leads individualized coaching sessions with Foster Parents identified as needing/wanting more support.
  • Ensure client safety and security while attending to their needs in a nurturing manner.
