Title: Recruitment Specialist – Foster Care

Job Summary:
The central purpose of the Recruitment Specialist with the Wellroot Family Services is to coordinate recruitment of foster parents in the communities Wellroot serves. This includes establishing contacts within churches and various organizations, working with established partners in the church and community to recruit foster families. The purpose is to oversee the recruitment and training of foster and adoptive families.
Responsibilities:
- Be competent in the Wellroot approval process and requirements of foster families in addition to being knowledgeable of state policy updates for the approval of foster families
- Be knowledgeable of Wellroot mission and programs
- Be an active team member by investing in Wellroot and Foster Care team activities and functions of the agency
- Participate in conferences and other training opportunities when requested by the Manager of Recruitment and Licensing
- Coordinate the recruitment of foster homes, internally, by processing incoming inquiries, arranging interviews or orientations
- Understand compliance standards which govern the approval of foster homes as set forth by RCCL, DHS, and COA regulations
- Maintain an understanding of the Foster Care/child welfare system
- Understand and practice the use of appropriate confidentiality
- Manage the tracking and compile the statistics related to foster home recruitment and inquiries
- Coordinate the recruitment for foster families with a planned strategy for the purpose of expanding the service of Foster Care through Wellroot
- Coordinate the provision and facilitation of orientation and pre-service training to prospective foster parents
- Partner with the Manager of Recruitment and Licensing toward the development and attainment of annual recruitment goals
- Be a positive factor in public relations by representing the agency well in contact with visitors and people from the community
- Establish contacts through churches and other community-based organizations to promote and educate the community about the need for foster families at Wellroot
- Represent Wellroot through collaborative efforts and other child welfare supports
- Partner with the Wellroot Advancement Team to promote the agency’s need for foster families
- Follow all agency personnel procedural, policy, and philosophical manuals
- Perform duties according to direction from the Manager of Recruitment and Licensing
Requirements:
- Agree to support the agency's mission statement, organizational values and beliefs
- Have the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations
- Be confident in sharing information with individuals and interested groups about fostering
- Be IMPACT Certified, preferred
- Must use own vehicle for required travel, keeping it in good working condition, and receiving reimbursement for agency business mileage
- Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in a human service or behavioral science field
- Experience of working in child welfare, and in a role that includes recruiting, training, or public speaking, preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
- Sound decision making skills and judgment
- Proficient using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications
- Understand that this job will require evening and weekend hours of with opportunities for adjusted schedule
Working Environment:
Work is conducted in an office setting as well as in the field. The ability to maintain a flexible work schedule which will include evenings and weekends is required. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Usually sits in front of a computer 30% of the time as well as approximately 70% of the time planning and participating in recruitment and training events in the communities we serve.
