Job Description: Dayka & Hackett LLC is seeking an Experience Food Safety Manager to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to develop, implement, monitor, and continually improve our Food Safety programs. Our Food Safety Manager should have the confidence to clearly communicate programs and policies to a wide array of audiences including senior management, Food Safety specialists, supermarkets, packinghouses, customers and auditing agencies. The Food Safety Manager plays a key management and compliance role, in defining the Food Safety program and strategy to ensure Food Safety operational requirements, policies, and procedures are in accordance with Good Agricultural Practice (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable FDA and/or USDA regulations. Food Safety & Compliance responsibilities, includes all US-based operating locations such as warehouses and farms and international import compliance relating to the importation of third-party fruit import programs.
Requirements
Job Duties:
- Responsible for all Food Safety duties for Dayka & Hackett LLC.
- Maintain Food Safety, Social Compliance, and Security documents for domestic and international suppliers.
- Interact with Grower Services Team and Field Operations to ensure all growers are Food Safety compliance.
- Interview and recommend consultants for Global GAP Option 2 Group and facilities.
- Maintained Customer and Retailer compliance across respective platforms.
- Participate in Food Safety, customer, and regulatory audits including PGFS, CCOF Organic, Walmart SCS, Costco CoC, USDA GAP/GHP, SMETA, CTPAT, and Global Gap.
- Manage Dayka & Hackett Organic certification.
- Review all customer complaints.
- Assisted with Environmental Resource Management and Sustainability program and reporting.
- Assist in other retail portal related projects from time to time (i.e. UPC upload, product upload, etc.).
- Familiar with SQF and Global Gap standards and certification.
- Monitor compliance with FSMA rules and regulations on Domestic and Imported fruit which include:
o Preventive Controls for Human Food
o FSVP-Foreign Supplier Verification Program
o Sanitary Transportation of Human Food
o Produce Safety
- Review and Verify Packer and Dayka & Hackett Trace back/Recall procedures.
- Respond to Food Safety related concerns and complaints with corrective action reports.
- Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience with audits at the packinghouse and/or grower level.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations and training seminars.
- Effective collaboration and relationship building skills.
- Exceptional problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with Famous Software, preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred, but not required)
Education and Experience :
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Food Safety assurance within a manufacturing environment.
- B.S. in Microbiology, Food Science or related discipline required, advanced degree preferred.
Travel:
- Travel is expected for this position in the local Reedley & Dinuba surrounding areas. Travel to other U.S. facilities may be required from time to time.
