Job description

This is a strategic position which will direct site selection, design, construction, maintenance, and utility necessary for a safe and capable facility for the ReCor business. Position reports to the Vice President of Operations and will direct the Facilities Department.

Responsibilites

  • Directs the activities of the Facilities department
  • Establishes strategic plans and objectives
  • Makes final decisions on implementation and ensures operational effectiveness
  • Effectively cascades functional strategy and contributes to development of organizational policies
  • Translates business strategy into functional plans and guides execution.
  • Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements
  • Directs the activities of the department through lower management, leading the team to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Provides Strategic Leadership for Facilities
  • Collaborates to understand requirements for strategic growth
  • Identifies and evaluates facility locations. Drives negotiations with city planners and consultants to fairly evaluate these locations for cost and capability
  • Comprehends facility options and provides executive staff recommendations by data driven decision
  • Identifies, selects, and incentivizes appropriate contractors to complete facility work
  • Develops facility strategy (ex. security and safety systems) to support sustained growth
  • Manage facility security, equipment, utility, construction, and design
  • Manages the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities
  • Is the outward facing representative for the business with regard to managing facility activity
  • Includes HVAC, plumbing, house gas supply and compressed dry air, electrical, backup systems, and facility design and qualification
  • Inspection of building and grounds, including common areas, restrooms, dumpster areas, emergency shower and eyewash, fire inspections, test of emergency lighting, etc. to assure safety
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs.
  • Clean Room repair and troubleshooting; able to respond to heating/air conditioning requests for offices, conference rooms, and open areas
  • Manages Security and access control; manage security system and be the primary contact for security services and key-card control
  • Manage Facility Safety
  • Is the outward facing representative for the business with regard to managing facility safety
  • Manages the monitoring, administering, evaluating and coordinating of environmental, safety and health programs to enhance a safe workplace and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees the system of scheduled facility inspections.
  • Manages procedures to minimize or eliminate hazards from work processes
  • Manages administrative facility support
  • Manages the stocking of general office supplies (including break-room)
  • Oversees the front-desk resources
  • Oversees Janitorial support services
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and respond to off-hour emergencies as needed
  • Must execute work in a manner compliance with FDA and ISO guidelines for medical device development and manufacture

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experiences with facility operational management specifically, in design, maintenance, and safety compliance
  • Must have medical device facility selection, design, build, and management experience
  • Experience providing strategic leadership for facility selection and growth
  • Experience managing safety programs
  • Experience directing a team through aligning strategy, goals, culture, and resources to effectively support the company
  • Experience developing and managing budgets with financial, contract management and purchasing skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities
  • Customer-oriented approach to work and employee requests
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to understand and/or communicate project needs.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds
